Our Next Reunion.
Mass at 7pm on Tuesday 14 September at St Mary's Cathedral, Broughton St., Edinburgh, followed about 8pm by wine and a light buffet. Copies of Norah Carlin's book on Holy Cross available. The price of tickets is £8 per head. We would appreciate if you could pay in advance. We have already sold about 400 copies of the book. The organising committee feel that the income from the book sould be used to benefit pupils at Holy Cross Primary and at St. Augustine's High School (the successor to Holy Cross Secondary). We have spoken to the head teachers about an annual award to pupil(s) , perhaps £50 per school, aimed at developing future citizens by encouraging unselfish and caring behaviour. We also discussed one-off physical memorials reflecting the ethos of Holy Cross. Awards should begin in 2011 and physical memorials will be presented as soon as possible. We can start awards from existing funds but you may wish to make a donation to ensure that the awards continue in future. You can add the donation to your reception ticket payment or donate separately.
